Our Mission

Growing the TTRPG Industry in Australia

Stories are better told collaboratively and with so much local talent and creatively right at our doorstep, we want to help foster the growth of our industry right here in Australia. Whatever the medium, whether it be actual play shows, live theatre, podcasts, books & games publishing, or even film/TV productions (scripted and/or game show.)

Our dream is to keep expanding the Winters Tales Studio in Western Australia to be able to make more content/entertainment and continue to tell unique and impactful stories.

Our Values

Creativity

"Never stop playing."
Storytelling, exploration and adventure through any and all mediums.

Innovation

We will continue to push the limits of what we can achieve through collaborative storytelling and games.

Collaboration

Stories are better told together and with a variety of different backgrounds & experiences to bring to the table.

Community

We want to help build a better tomorrow and that means helping to grow our community and foster safe spaces for all.

Winters Tales Studio

"Anyone who has ever taken on the massive undertaking of running a narrative campaign as a dungeon master knows that it requires a massive personal investment to weave a dynamic, three-dimensional world for your average table of 3-6 players. Such an undertaking requires research, writing, and performance skills, not to mention requires the Dungeon Master to seamlessly be storyteller, referee, improv actor, and community manager; often in the same breath. This is difficult for most people to pull off with a small table of their friends, and AJ Winters did this with a remarkably diverse, international cast of 120+ creators from around the world."

Testimonials

Our pledge

We want to foster a safe space for all which means that we want to showcase the talent and diversity of Australians (& other collaborators around the world) to make sure that anyone watching or reading our content can feel represented and celebrated. Our differences are what make us shine and if we told stories from the same perspective every time, our stories would quickly become stale. We also understand that the "nerd" space out there is full of diversity and marginalised, underrepresented groups that we do not often see at the forefront of media. We want to change that.

Our pledge to you is to tell unique stories in well-built, fantastical worlds, and to continue to build a safe space and entertainment that differs from the same over-represented narratives and media we have all already seen. Nerds and nerd culture is on the rise, and it does not discriminate. We pledge to build the support network for a thriving industry, to vouch for and grow the funding and resources needed, and to establish Australia as a powerhouse in collaborative storytelling, worldbuilding, games and the love of all things Tabletop and Roleplay.

How will we do it?

01

Support & celebrate the creativity & content creation coming from Australians and Australian Businesses

02

Foster collaboration both interstate and internationally to increase tourism, job opportunities & economic growth

03

Invest in and produce more original Australian content for nerds: live shows, events, balls and galas, theatre, film/tv production, films festivals, perhaps even our own independent streaming service?

04

Implement & help establish funding initiatives, grants & more awards for the growing TTRPG industry in Australia

Help make it a reality

In order to make all of this a possibility we need you to help us prove how big this industry can get. If you play Tabletop Roleplaying Games (like Dungeons & Dragons, Daggerheart, Call of Cthulhu) or run a business that is TTRPG adjacent like writing or publishing, art, dice making, tabletop accessories, miniatures, stationary, apparel, entertainment etc, we'd love to hear from you!

The more statistics we can gather about our diverse and growing industry, the easier it is to bring about some significant change to the investment of it nation wide.

Aussies, have your say!
